Over 6,000 visitors to the IMPULS job fair in Cottbus

IMPULS 2024 comes to a successful close on Saturday evening with over 6,000 visitors.
"The exhibition halls were always full and there was a great atmosphere," said a delighted Diana Striesenow, project manager of the trade fair. Young people were everywhere in the Cottbus exhibition halls looking for their dream job that is fun, secure and well-paid, and preferably close to family and friends. And the chances of fulfilling all these wishes with the right training have never been better. There are currently the best opportunities for young people to realize exactly where their personal preferences lie - companies are looking in almost all areas and many employees will be retiring in the next few years. At the fair, visitors were able to make direct contact with bosses and HR managers in a relaxed atmosphere and discover job prospects in their home country. The employers were extremely imaginative in drawing attention to themselves - the offers ranged from making a wind turbine to a truck and from a cotton candy machine to a popcorn machine at the stand. Simulators allowed visitors to drive both trains and excavators or be lifted up to the hall ceiling with a forklift truck.

For two days on February 16 and 17, MESSE COTTBUS was once again all about training, careers and future opportunities. Almost 200 exhibitors presented themselves at the largest careers fair in the state of Brandenburg. The two exhibition halls were completely filled with exhibitors from all areas of industry, trade and services. IMPLUS was officially opened on Friday at 11 a.m. by Minister President Dietmar Woidke, who emphasized the importance of the trade fair for securing skilled workers in the state and at the same time addressed the good future prospects for young people in Brandenburg. "We are showing the other states how it works with economic growth," he proudly announced on the opening podium. He brought a lot of time with him and, after the symbolic ribbon-cutting ceremony, spent two hours in intensive discussions with the exhibitors during the tour of the trade fair.

A program of presentations complemented the advice at the trade fair stands, and there were also stand activities and demonstrations as well as applicant training, job castings and application portfolio checks at the trade fair. All trade fair participants agree: IMPULS plays a major role in securing the supply of skilled workers and maintaining the competitiveness of the regional economy.

And so after the trade fair is before the trade fair - the next IMPULS will take place from February 14 to 15, 2025.
