Dr. Dietmar Woidke
Minister President of the State of Brandenburg
Dear visitors,
Dear readers!
The IMPULS trade fair has been one of the most important trade fairs in the field of education, career choices and start-ups in the state of Bandenburg for many years. It creates a space to bring graduates from schools, colleges and universities into direct contact with educational and research institutes and companies. It also provides the future generation of start-ups with a valuable point of contact for obtaining information in a bundled form.
The search for skilled workers is a major challenge for companies in almost all sectors. Training junior staff themselves is an important way of securing their own supply of qualified employees. This is a real investment in the future! I am delighted at the great commitment of our companies to creating apprenticeships. For their part, the general conditions for applicants are more favorable than ever. The career prospects and personal development opportunities in our country are excellent! We offer the best opportunities for young men and women to find a good job in their home state of Brandenburg.
The Cottbus trade fair location and the associated strong presence of the future region of Lusatia shows once again how willing people are to support and help shape structural change. The passion of all those involved in a model region such as Lusatia has an impact beyond the state borders. We want everyone who wants to get involved and help shape the future! And it is precisely these people who will find everything they need for their start or new start here at the IMPULS 2024 trade fair.
I wish all guests interesting encounters and a successful trade fair overall. Take advantage of the comprehensive range of offers on both days and get talking to each other!

Dear visitors to the Impuls trade fair,
We have started the new year 2024 with new challenges. With the recently opened railroad plant, the first major employer in the process of structural change has started work. And it wasn't too long ago that there were calls for new jobs to be created before jobs were lost due to the coal phase-out. The railroad plant is therefore an important first step and a tangible impetus for development in the region.
Further milestones for jobs and structural development have been set: The Carl-Thiem-Klinikum will become a state-run university hospital providing basic medical care as well as research and teaching. The course is also being set for the future Lausitz Science Park.
All in all, now is the time to get your bearings, to discover what is and will be new in Cottbus/Chóśebuz in particular. Investments worth billions that we would never have dared to dream of years ago are being implemented. And now we need clever and committed people to work on this, courageous people to start their own businesses. Knowledge and education are the renewable energies of our region and our future. We are looking for specialists and workers everywhere - the choice is yours. When you are spoiled for choice, you will find good, high-profile guides at trade fairs such as Impuls. A good 200 exhibitors have a lot to offer. Above all, perspectives and good reasons for coming here, being here and staying here.
I wish you the best of health, energy and confidence for all your plans and projects. And, of course, new impetus.

Dear students,
dear parents and exhibitors,
The career prospects for young people in Lusatia are excellent and have rarely been so promising and varied.
Companies in the region are desperately looking for well-trained skilled workers and dual vocational training is a key guarantee for securing skilled workers for the future. This is shown by the high number of training contracts in the 2023/2024 training year. With 10 percent more new contracts, dual training in the Cottbus Chamber of Industry and Commerce district has rarely been so strong and it shows how high the demand for skilled workers and the willingness of companies to train is.
The Cottbus IHK online apprenticeship exchange (www.ihk.cottbus.ik.de) and the joint web portal of the IHKs in Brandenburg (www.mach-es-in-brandenburg.de) once again offer many vacancies for apprenticeships and internships as well as great information on all aspects of choosing a career.
Dear students, this is your chance and that's why IMPULS, the largest trade fair for education, jobs and start-ups in Brandenburg, is the right place for you on February 16-17, 2024. - After all, choosing a career is not an easy decision and sets an important course for the rest of your life. All the more reason to get information, explore and try things out.
Immerse yourself in a wealth of MORE information on these days. The companies and exhibitors on site will show you what attractive opportunities the training market in Lusatia has to offer.
In addition to the many offers for training and internships, IMPULS also shows what the path after vocational training can look like, because as a trade fair for careers and professions, "lifelong learning" is also in demand. In a time of rapid development, further and advanced training is an essential building block for professional success. Find out more and stay on the ball.
I would like to thank the many companies in our region who are exhibiting with great dedication and enthusiasm and who are making a significant contribution to the development of the skilled workers of today and tomorrow with their commitment day after day. Thank you very much.
And now I wish IMPULS 2024 many knowledge-hungry students, interested parents as important advisors for young people and trade fair visitors.
I wish you all a stimulating and informative visit to the trade fair and every success for your professional future.

Dear visitors,
dear students,
Now is the right time to enter the skilled trades. Because specialists who can repair heating systems and cars, build houses or cover roofs are becoming a scarce commodity. And when something is in short supply, prices rise and, as a result, so do wages. There are more than 70 different professions to choose from in our companies, from A for optician to Z for bicycle mechanic. You don't have to leave Lusatia, there is plenty of work here!
If you are looking for a varied and exciting job that fulfills you completely and allows you to pursue a career, the skilled trades are the right place for you. We have over 450 apprenticeship vacancies in our apprenticeship exchange (www.hwk-cottbus.de/lehrstellen). The number is increasing every day. What are you waiting for?
We post vacant apprenticeships every day on our Facebook page "Azubiflash". "Are you still looking or have you already applied?" is the motto of our apprenticeship radar for smartphones and tablets. It has never been easier to obtain information about our training companies.
Our advisors will be on hand to answer your questions at the Impuls stand (C10 in Hall 1). Get in touch with us. Start your career in the skilled trades today.
I wish all visitors two exciting days and the students every success in their search. Visit us in Hall 1!
