IMPULS 2024 - Shaping the future yourself

Brandenburg's largest trade fair for education, jobs and start-ups will take place on February 16 and 17. Preparations are in full swing. IMPULS is an important address for finding your personal future and presents a variety of training occupations and job prospects - a date that companies from industry, trade and commerce, as well as institutions, chambers and associations, should make a note of now. Around 200 exhibitors are expected.

Beate Zwerenz, Managing Director of IMPULS Veranstaltungs GmbH, is delighted to be hosting IMPULS again this year. " In times of a shortage of skilled workers, our job fair is more important than ever. This is confirmed by the continuing high level of interest shown by our exhibitors, who deliberately choose IMPULS: The bundling of subject areas relevant to the labor market under one roof offers school pupils and trainees as well as career starters, career changers and those returning to work the ideal platform for discussions and applications for career planning at every stage of education, study and life." Under the motto "Shaping the future yourself", IMPULS offers the opportunity to explore the right career path in personal discussions with HR managers, training providers or even trainees themselves. Over 7000 visitors came to IMPULS 2023, and they and the exhibitors were able to draw a positive conclusion: IMPULS thus underlined its status as Brandenburg's largest and most important careers fair. The 2024 trade fair will build on this success. Minister President Dietmar Woidke has assumed the patronage and will open the fair on Friday. He is thus underlining the high esteem in which the job fair is held.

IMPULS is aimed at both apprenticeship and job seekers. At the fair, they have the ideal opportunity to find out from the exhibitors about their options when it comes to finding the right career path for them. With specific job offers, renowned companies are recruiting new specialists in many areas and with different qualification requirements. HR managers and future colleagues will be on hand to offer advice, provide insights into dream jobs, present new professions and answer all questions about training paths, starting a career and taking up work - an opportunity that will not be available again before the job interview. You can put your own skills to the test with stand activities, experiments and quizzes.

Vocational training and further education - opportunities and prospects
The choice of career path should be carefully prepared - it is important to think about where your skills lie at an early stage and to find out which professions will be in demand in the future. Current studies show that almost half of school leavers prefer a dual apprenticeship to a degree course - and the trend is rising. This is precisely where the trade fair comes in and focuses on dual vocational training; it can have a positive long-term impact on the problem of skilled workers, especially for the central German economy. The exhibitors provide practical information; visitors can test themselves and their skills in many hands-on activities and thus discover their strengths. Of course, a career in the skilled trades does not have to end with vocational training. There are many opportunities for further training, allowing you to build on your professional career and even become a master craftsman. This paves the way for future self-employment at an early stage, be it by setting up a new business or through company succession. The Cottbus Chamber of Crafts and the Cottbus Chamber of Industry and Commerce are local contacts for all these topics. Colleges, universities and vocational academies will be on hand to answer questions from prospective students. All important information about current courses of study and admission requirements will be available at the stands.

Jobs and careers - opportunities in the region
As a job fair, IMPULS is very important for skilled workers in the region. Predominantly regionally based companies provide information at the fair about their current job offers and entry routes. Training and further education academies, institutes and consulting companies present retraining opportunities, programs and training measures. The offers are supplemented by the job and apprenticeship exchange, which presents current vacancies.

Strengthening interest in entrepreneurship
At the same time, IMPULS also aims to arouse interest in entrepreneurial activity - be it on the path to setting up a new company or taking over an existing one. More and more companies are facing the challenge of securing their business with a successor. For some, this opens up an alternative life perspective. Experts provide information and assistance, show examples of successful company start-ups and examine the implementation of business ideas and how to secure financing.
